WHAT'S ON
ABOUT US
My bank manager laughed at me when I said "if I build it - they will come".
But hopefully the community will embrace us as a space to chat, enjoy some good company, good coffee and listen to some well-curated sounds.

With the largest selection of pre-loved vinyl on the island, along with quality CD's, books and other music memorabilia, you may even find something to buy.

Apparently, vinyl is making a comeback.
For me it never went away.
My passion for vinyl is as strong now in my late 50's as it was as a child.
Listening to Mum and Dad's Elvis & Eddie Cochran, Grandad's Val Doonican, Aunts and Uncles Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Abba and Barry Manilow. It was all a joy.
I didn't "inflict" my love of vinyl on my kids. But as they grew up all three of them had turntables in their bedrooms as they sought out their own joy.
But it's not just about nostalgia.
It's about art, the listening experience and the music.
Opening a record shop was always a distant dream of mine -
a dream that was filed away under "maybe - one day".

Sounds & Grounds is a real family affair (Sly & The Family Stone) from the floorboards up (Paul Weller), I couldn't have done it without the help of my mad but unflinching family.
Thanks and of course love and affection (Joan Armatrading) go to:
Brother Mark - Greene Box Design - for his skills and ideas.
Son James - for his design flair.
Daughter Georgia and her partner Josh - for their knowledge and enthusiasm.
Son Oliver - for his humour and support.
Wife Michelle - for her painting and patience.

And for the last time, the plural of vinyl is vinyl!
