Shipping policy
At Sounds + Grounds, we aim to get your pre-loved vinyl, CDs, merch, and other items to you as quickly and safely as possible. This policy explains our shipping process, costs, and timelines.
1. Processing Time
We normally process and dispatch orders within 1–3 business days (Tuesday to Friday, excluding bank holidays). Orders placed on weekends or during busy periods (e.g., new stock drops) may take a little longer.
You will receive an email confirmation when your order has been dispatched, including tracking information where available.
2. Delivery Options & Costs (UK Mainland)
We use reliable UK carriers (typically Royal Mail or Evri). Delivery costs are calculated at checkout based on weight, value, and destination.
- Standard Delivery: Usually 2–5 business days after dispatch.
- Tracked Delivery: Recommended for valuable orders (additional cost shown at checkout).
- Free Shipping: We may offer free standard delivery on orders over a certain amount from time to time (check current promotions at checkout).
3. Delivery to the Isle of Wight & Remote UK Areas
As we are based in Cowes, Isle of Wight, local and island deliveries are often faster. However, some remote UK postcodes (Highlands, Islands, Northern Ireland) may incur higher shipping costs or longer delivery times. These are shown clearly at checkout.
4. International Shipping
We are happy to ship worldwide where possible. International orders are sent via Royal Mail International.
- Delivery times: 7–21 days (varies by country).
- Customs, import duties, and taxes are the responsibility of the recipient.
- We are not liable for delays caused by customs.

5. Risk and Ownership
Ownership and risk of loss or damage pass to you once the goods are delivered to the delivery address you provided (or collected by you/in-store).
6. Delivery Delays
While we do our best to meet estimated times, all delivery times are estimates only and not guaranteed. We are not responsible for delays caused by carriers, customs, or events outside our control (e.g., severe weather, strikes).
Under UK law, we must deliver within 30 days of accepting your order unless a different timescale was agreed. If we cannot deliver within this period, you may be entitled to a full refund. See our Refund Policy for details.
7. Failed Deliveries & Redelivery
If a delivery attempt fails (e.g., no one at home), the carrier will usually leave a card or notify you. You are responsible for arranging redelivery or collection within the carrier’s timeframe. Additional charges may apply for redelivery.
8. In-Store Collection / Local Delivery
We offer click & collect from our shop at:

9. Damaged or Lost Items
- Please inspect your parcel on arrival.
- Report any damage or missing items to us within 48 hours of delivery with photos.
- For lost items, contact us and we will liaise with the carrier.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your order will apply.
