1000 Homo DJs – Supernaut

1000 Homo DJs – Supernaut is a ferocious industrial release from the influential Ministry side-project, combining crushing guitars, abrasive electronics, distorted vocals and the confrontational attitude of the late-1980s and early-1990s American industrial scene.

The centrepiece is the band's infamous cover of Black Sabbath's "Supernaut", transformed into a dense, punishing industrial workout. Driven by heavily distorted guitars, pounding percussion and layers of electronic noise, the track takes the original's heavy-metal riff and pushes it into much darker territory.

The remaining tracks continue in similarly uncompromising fashion. "Hey Asshole" delivers an extended blast of abrasive industrial rock, while "Apathy" and "Better Ways" explore the more experimental and noise-oriented side of the project.

1000 Homo DJs was formed around Al Jourgensen, the central figure behind Ministry, and the project became part of the wider Wax Trax! Records industrial network. The group's work sits firmly within the same chaotic musical world as Ministry, Revolting Cocks and other influential acts associated with the Chicago industrial scene.

Supernaut is particularly notable for its connection to the broader industrial underground and its reinterpretation of one of heavy metal's most recognisable songs. The result is noisy, aggressive and deliberately abrasive, making it an essential release for fans of Ministry and the heavier end of industrial music.

For collectors of 1000 Homo DJs, Ministry, industrial rock, industrial metal, noise rock, Wax Trax! and alternative electronic music, Supernaut is a highly distinctive piece of the classic industrial era.
