Originally released in 1971 on Deram Records, In The Land Of Grey And Pink is the third studio album by British progressive rock band Caravan and a defining release of the Canterbury scene. Produced by David Hitchcock, it brings together melodic songwriting, jazz-influenced musicianship, pastoral folk-rock textures and the band's characteristically quirky sense of humour.

The album opens with the playful “Golf Girl”, followed by the expansive “Winter Wine”, before moving through the whimsical pop-prog of “Love To Love You (And Tonight Pigs Will Fly)” and the atmospheric title track. Its centrepiece, the side-long suite “Nine Feet Underground”, unfolds across eight connected sections, showcasing intricate keyboard work, shifting rhythms and extended instrumental passages.

Featuring the classic Caravan line-up of Pye Hastings, Richard Sinclair, David Sinclair and Richard Coughlan, alongside additional contributions including Jimmy Hastings, this is an essential album for fans of vintage progressive rock, the Canterbury scene and adventurous early-1970s British music.
