Noisia – Bad Dreams / Omissions

Originally released in 2006 on Vision Recordings, Bad Dreams / Omissions is an early 12-inch from Dutch drum & bass pioneers Noisia. Issued as VSN003, the record arrived during the formative years of Vision Recordings, the label established by Noisia themselves, and captures the dark, technical and highly detailed production style that would become synonymous with the trio.

Side A – Bad Dreams is a heavyweight piece of mid-2000s drum & bass, driven by intricate breakbeats, powerful bass pressure and densely layered electronic textures. With its dark atmosphere and precision production, the track sits comfortably within the neurofunk and techstep spectrum that was developing rapidly during this period. The track was already being circulated in Noisia's DJ mixes around the time of its release, underlining its place in their early live and DJ repertoire.

Side AA – Omissions takes a similarly dark and futuristic approach, combining detailed percussion with a rolling rhythm and deep, weighty low end. At almost seven minutes, it gives the production plenty of room to develop, making it particularly effective as a DJ-focused drum & bass track. Both tracks are credited to Noisia and were released together as the two-track VSN003 single in September 2006.

Bad Dreams / Omissions is an important snapshot of Noisia's early sound, preceding the trio's later international breakthrough while already demonstrating the technical precision, dark atmospheres and futuristic production that would become central to their work.
