Spine EP brings together four heavyweight drum & bass cuts from some of the scene's most respected producers, combining dark atmospheres, rolling basslines, intricate percussion and high-impact electronic production. Featuring Black Sun Empire, Skynet, Jade & Matt-U, and Chris.SU & Rawfull, the release offers a diverse snapshot of the deeper and more technical side of modern drum & bass.
The A-side opens with Black Sun Empire – Fearless, showcasing the Dutch trio's renowned approach to dark, futuristic drum & bass. Built around intricate programmed drums, powerful bass pressure and atmospheric electronic textures, the track demonstrates the production precision and intensity that have made Black Sun Empire such an influential name within the neurofunk and techstep scenes.
On the B-side, Skynet – Night Raiders continues the darker direction with a powerful combination of rolling rhythms, heavyweight bass and tense electronic sound design. Skynet has long been associated with the harder, more technical side of drum & bass, making this a natural fit alongside Black Sun Empire.
The second record opens with Jade & Matt-U – Got Lost, bringing another layer of depth and atmosphere to the EP. The track balances detailed percussion with deep bass and spacious production, before Chris.SU & Rawfull – Panorama closes the release with a seven-minute excursion into rolling, atmospheric drum & bass.
