"Hard To Handle" is one of the defining early singles from "The Black Crowes", featuring their swaggering take on the Otis Redding soul classic. Released on Def American Recordings in 1991, this UK and European 7" single pairs the studio version with a live performance of "Sister Luck", capturing the band's blues-heavy, roots-rock approach during their breakthrough period.
Originally written and recorded by Otis Redding, Alvertis Isbell and Allen A. Jones, "Hard To Handle" was transformed by The Black Crowes into a hard-driving rock performance built around Chris Robinson's powerful vocals, Rich Robinson's guitar work and the band's gritty Southern-rock sound.
