Van Halen – Deluxe is a substantial 4-CD collection bringing together two landmark studio albums and a full live performance from one of the most influential American hard rock bands of all time. Released in 2015 by Rhino and Warner Bros., the deluxe set combines the newly remastered 1978 debut Van Halen and 1984 with Tokyo Dome In Concert, recorded in Japan in 2013.

The first disc presents the newly remastered version of the band's explosive self-titled debut. Released in 1978, Van Halen immediately established "Eddie Van Halen" as a revolutionary guitar player, with Eruption becoming one of the most celebrated electric-guitar performances in rock history. Alongside it are essential Van Halen classics including Runnin' With The Devil, You Really Got Me, Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love, Jamie's Cryin' and Ice Cream Man. The album's combination of virtuoso guitar playing, David Lee Roth's charismatic vocals and the band's relentlessly energetic rhythm section helped redefine late-1970s hard rock.

Disc two moves forward to 1984, another defining moment in the band's career. The album features the iconic opening instrumental 1984 followed by Jump, Panama, Hot For Teacher, I'll Wait, Top Jimmy and House Of Pain. Jump marked a particularly significant expansion of the Van Halen sound, incorporating synthesizers while retaining the band's trademark guitar-driven power. The newly remastered edition was created directly from the original analogue master recordings.

The final two discs contain Tokyo Dome In Concert, recorded on 21 June 2013 at Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan. It was the first Van Halen live album to feature original vocalist "David Lee Roth", with "Eddie Van Halen", "Alex Van Halen" and "Wolfgang Van Halen" completing the line-up. The 25-song performance spans the band's Roth-era catalogue, from Unchained, Runnin' With The Devil and Everybody Wants Some!! through to Hot For Teacher, Mean Street, Panama, Eruption and the climactic Jump.

For collectors of classic rock, hard rock, heavy metal and Van Halen, this Deluxe edition offers an impressive combination of studio essentials and a complete later-era live performance.
