Released in 1978 at the height of the UK punk explosion, Separates is the second studio album from London punk veterans 999 and one of the standout records of the era. Building on the success of their self-titled debut, the album combines the raw energy and attitude of first-wave punk with a sharper sense of melody, helping establish 999 as one of Britain's most underrated and enduring punk bands.

While many of their contemporaries leaned heavily into confrontation and chaos, 999 balanced urgency with strong songwriting, delivering punchy hooks, driving guitars, and memorable choruses throughout the album.
