Released in 1979, Greatest Hits Vol. 2 compiled many of ABBA's biggest international hits from the latter half of the 1970s, capturing the group at the height of its worldwide popularity. The collection followed the success of the original Greatest Hits and showcased the band's evolution from straightforward pop to more sophisticated and ambitious songwriting and production.

The album features several of ABBA's most enduring songs, including "Dancing Queen," "Take A Chance On Me," "Knowing Me, Knowing You," and "Chiquitita." It also included the then-new single "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)," which became one of the group's signature recordings and a major international hit.

Blending infectious pop melodies, rich vocal harmonies from Agnetha Fältskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad, and the songwriting partnership of Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, the compilation serves as an excellent overview of ABBA's most successful period.
