Batbots / Manifold is a heavyweight 12" release from Sarajevo-born producer "Billain", originally released on the influential Bad Taste Recordings label in 2012. The two-track single showcases Billain's highly detailed approach to drum & bass, combining complex rhythms, aggressive bass design and futuristic electronic textures to create a dark, technical and intensely energetic sound. The release was issued as catalogue number BT021 and became an important early release in Billain's development as one of the more distinctive producers working within the neurofunk scene.

The A-side, Batbots, is a powerful example of Billain's intricate production style, driven by hard-hitting drums, twisted bass sounds and constantly shifting electronic textures. On the flip, Manifold continues the futuristic aesthetic with another tightly engineered drum & bass workout. Both tracks reflect the influence of the darker, more experimental side of the genre, while retaining the funk and dancefloor energy associated with the classic Virus Recordings and Bad Company UK sound.

"Billain" had originally begun producing minimal techno before discovering drum & bass through the influential Wormhole era of "Ed Rush & Optical". His subsequent work developed into an increasingly experimental form of neurofunk, drawing on complex sound design and influences ranging from electronic music pioneers to science-fiction cinema. Batbots / Manifold was his first release on Bad Taste Recordings and helped establish his relationship with the label.
