Bob Dylan – Slow Train Coming
Bob Dylan – Slow Train Coming
Released in 1979, Slow Train Coming marked one of the most significant and controversial chapters in Bob Dylan's career. Recorded following his conversion to Christianity, the album introduced a new spiritual direction to his songwriting while retaining the powerful storytelling, distinctive vocals and musical depth that had defined his work throughout the 1960s and 1970s.
Produced by the legendary Jerry Wexler and recorded at Muscle Shoals Sound Studio, the album features a stellar backing band including guitarist Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits. The result is a rich blend of gospel, blues, rock and soul influences, creating one of Dylan's most polished and musically accomplished recordings.
Featuring the Grammy Award-winning “Gotta Serve Somebody” alongside highlights such as “Precious Angel,” “Slow Train,” and “I Believe In You,” the album remains a fascinating and deeply personal statement from one of popular music's most influential artists.
