Brown Horse return with their third album Total Dive - their most grounded and fully realised work to date. Marking a subtle but significant evolution in sound, the record showcases a newfound confidence in both their songwriting and musical approach.

Moving away from the playful eclecticism of their earlier releases, Total Dive leans into a darker, more introspective space - though never without a sense of cautious optimism. With songwriting contributions from all four members - Patrick Turner, Nyle Holihan, Ea Tovell, and Rowan Braham - the album unfolds as a series of personal reflections, charting moments of quiet revelation and emotional upheaval.

Sonically, Total Dive finds Brown Horse refining their distinctive voice. There are echoes of Uncle Tupelo’s stark country-rock, the raw emotional pull of early Cat Power, and the haunted, expansive tones of Magnolia Electric Co.. At the same time, the band embrace a more assertive, textured edge, drawing from the alt-rock energy of Built to Spill and The Breeders.

The result is a record that feels both intimate and expansive - weathered, melodic, and deeply human. Total Dive stands as the clearest expression yet of Brown Horse’s unique musical identity.
