Charles Dickens – A Christmas Carol
Charles Dickens – A Christmas Carol
Celebrate the warmth, tradition and atmosphere of Christmas with A Christmas Carol, a festive collection bringing together much-loved seasonal music and traditional Christmas carols. Featuring a programme of fourteen tracks, this release offers a selection of familiar melodies and cherished seasonal favourites, making it a natural choice for Christmas listening and collectors of vintage festive vinyl.
The track selection combines classical repertoire with traditional carols and Christmas songs. Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Fantasia on a Theme of Thomas Tallis brings a distinguished classical touch to the programme, while traditional favourites such as God Rest You Merry Gentlemen, In Dulce Jubilo and The Holly and the Ivy evoke the enduring musical traditions of the season. In the Bleak Mid-Winter, Wassail and On Christmas Night add further seasonal character, creating a programme suited to a traditional Christmas atmosphere.
With its mixture of familiar carols, devotional pieces and festive songs, A Christmas Carol will appeal to listeners who enjoy traditional Christmas music, classical selections and vintage seasonal records. It is an appealing addition to a Christmas vinyl collection and a fitting choice for putting on during the festive period, whether as background music for seasonal gatherings or as part of a collection devoted to the sounds of Christmas.
The tracklist is particularly well suited to listeners who appreciate the traditional side of Christmas music, from the reflective character of Fantasia on a Theme of Thomas Tallis to the familiar melodies of God Rest You Merry Gentlemen and The Holly and the Ivy.
