We're delighted to welcome the Rufus Reader Quartet for the first live performance in the shop for well over a year.
Formed in summer 2026, this exciting new jazz quartet brings together George Farrell (trombone), Jon Thorne (bass), Tom Hendy (keys) and Rufus Reader (drums) for an evening inspired by the music of legendary trombonist and composer J.J. Johnson.
Drawing on the rich tradition of post-bop jazz, the quartet will perform arrangements of Johnson's work alongside original interpretations and material developed by the band. Expect melodic improvisation, dynamic interplay and a fresh take on some of the finest music in the modern jazz canon.
Spaces are limited to 30 and advance booking is HIGHLY recommended.
