At its heart, the album is a conversation between musical worlds. Ballaké Sissoko draws on the rich griot traditions of West Africa, Vincent Segal brings the expressive depth of the cello, Émile Parisien contributes the adventurous spirit of modern jazz, and Vincent Peirani's accordion adds warmth, colour and rhythmic breath. Together, they create music that resists easy categorisation, moving freely between folk, jazz, chamber music and improvisation.

The compositions, largely written by members of the quartet, unfold like musical travel journals, balancing moments of meditative beauty with passages of rhythmic energy and spontaneous interaction. Tracks such as “Ta Nyé” and “Banja” echo Mandé musical traditions, while “Orient Express” and “Nomad's Sky” evoke movement, discovery and the crossing of cultural borders. Throughout, the quartet listens and responds with remarkable sensitivity, allowing each piece to evolve organically.
