Midnight Fire is the second studio album from American country singer, songwriter and guitarist Steve Wariner, originally released by RCA Nashville in 1983. Coming during the early part of Wariner's highly successful country career, the album combines traditional Nashville country with polished early-1980s country-pop production, moving between romantic ballads, upbeat country songs and more contemporary material.

The album produced a remarkable five singles on the US Billboard Hot Country chart. The title track “Midnight Fire” reached No. 5, while “Lonely Women Make Good Lovers” climbed to No. 4 and “Why Goodbye” reached No. 12. “Don't Your Mem'ry Ever Sleep At Night” and “Don't You Give Up On Love” were also released as singles, making Midnight Fire an important early album in Wariner's rise through the country music scene.

There are some particularly notable Nashville musicians and guests across the record. “I Can Hear Kentucky Calling Me” features country guitar legend Chet Atkins, with Wariner and Atkins each taking a guitar solo, while “Overnight Sensation” features guest vocals from Barbara Mandrell. The album was produced by Tony Brown and Norro Wilson, with Tom Collins producing the final two tracks.

Recorded in Nashville at The Music Mill, Woodland Sound Studios and GroundStar Laboratories, Midnight Fire captures Steve Wariner at an early stage of a career that would go on to produce numerous country hits. For collectors of 1980s country vinyl, RCA Nashville releases and artists associated with the classic Nashville studio sound, this is a strong example of Wariner's early work.
