Talkin' Loud Two is a showcase of the innovative British acid jazz movement of the early 1990s, bringing together a diverse selection of artists from the influential Talkin' Loud label. Blending jazz, soul, funk, hip hop and sophisticated dance grooves, the compilation captures the adventurous spirit of one of the UK's most important independent labels of the era.

The album opens with Urban Species – "Hide And Seek", followed by Galliano – "Hungry Like A Baby", bringing together jazz-inflected instrumentation, funk rhythms and hip hop influences. Incognito – "Colibri" continues the soulful, groove-driven approach, while Omar – "You've Got To Move" showcases the smooth vocal style and sophisticated soul that would become synonymous with the British acid jazz scene.

The K-Creative – "Back In The Real World" rounds off the first side with an extended groove, before side two moves through an eclectic mixture of soul, jazz, hip hop and conscious rap. Young Disciples – "All I Have In Me" provides a standout example of the soulful side of the movement, while Marxman – "Theme From Marxman" brings a more politically conscious hip hop edge.

French rapper MC Solaar contributes "Qui Seme Le Vent Recolte Le Tempo", demonstrating the international reach of the Talkin' Loud sound, while Perception – "Serious Love" and Bryan Powell – "I Commit" complete the collection with further soulful and jazz-influenced grooves.

Talkin' Loud was founded by Gilles Peterson in 1990 and quickly became one of the defining labels of the British acid jazz movement. Rather than restricting itself to one particular style, the label brought together musicians and artists who shared an appreciation for the meeting point between jazz, funk, soul, hip hop and contemporary dance music.
