Paradise Ballroom is the 1977 debut album from The Graeme Edge Band, the project formed by Graeme Edge, legendary drummer and founding member of The Moody Blues, alongside guitarist and vocalist Adrian Gurvitz. The album moves away from the orchestral psychedelia and progressive rock of The Moody Blues towards a heavier, guitar-driven sound, blending progressive rock, hard rock and melodic 1970s classic rock.

Graeme Edge had been at the heart of The Moody Blues since their formation, helping define the band's atmospheric and ambitious approach to rock. For his solo project, he teamed up with Adrian Gurvitz, a highly regarded guitarist and songwriter known for his work with The Gun, Three Man Army and Baker Gurvitz Army. Gurvitz's powerful guitar playing gives Paradise Ballroom a noticeably harder edge, while Edge's drumming provides the solid rhythmic foundation.

The album opens with the expansive title track Paradise Ballroom, an eight-minute progressive rock piece that establishes the record's ambitious character. Human continues with a mixture of heavy guitar, atmospheric keyboards and melodic vocals, while Everybody Needs Somebody brings a more direct and accessible classic-rock feel.

Side B opens with All Is Fair, followed by the driving Down, Down, Down. In The Night Of The Light provides a shorter, more atmospheric interlude before the album closes with Caroline, combining melodic songwriting with the muscular guitar sound that runs throughout the record.
