Post Pop Depression is the 2016 studio album from "Iggy Pop", created in collaboration with Josh Homme of Queens Of The Stone Age. Released on Loma Vista Recordings in March 2016, the album brought together Pop with Homme, QOTSA multi-instrumentalist Dean Fertita and Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders, resulting in a dark, muscular rock record that connects Pop's punk and art-rock legacy with a distinctly modern production sound.

The album was recorded between 2013 and 2015 at Pink Duck Studios in Burbank and Rancho De La Luna in Joshua Tree, with the project largely kept secret until its announcement in early 2016. Josh Homme produced the record as well as contributing guitar, bass, drums, keyboards and other instrumentation. The resulting sound is spacious, atmospheric and heavily guitar-driven, while still leaving plenty of room for Pop's distinctive baritone vocals and characteristically direct songwriting.

The album opens with "Break Into Your Heart", before moving into the swaggering "Gardenia" and the brooding "American Valhalla". "In The Lobby" and the expansive "Sunday" provide contrasting textures, while "Vulture", "German Days" and "Chocolate Drops" continue the album's mixture of hard-edged rock, atmospheric passages and unconventional arrangements.

Closing track "Paraguay" stretches beyond six minutes and provides a suitably dramatic finale. Across the album, the influence of Pop's celebrated late-1970s work with David Bowie can be heard in the combination of stark atmosphere, experimental rock and tightly controlled arrangements, although Post Pop Depression remains very much a collaboration between Pop and Homme rather than a recreation of those earlier records.
