A classic 1950s Little Richard 7-inch single, By The Light Of The Silvery Moon captures the legendary rock & roll performer putting his unmistakable energy into a traditional popular song. Originally recorded for Specialty Records, the track was released in the UK on London Records in 1959 and became a Top 20 hit, reaching No. 17 on the UK Singles Chart.

The A-side gives the familiar song a distinctly Little Richard treatment, with his powerful vocals backed by the driving New Orleans rhythm & blues sound that defined his classic recordings. The recording features members of his celebrated session band, including saxophonists Lee Allen and Alvin “Red” Tyler, guitarist Edgar Blanchard, bassist Frank Fields and drummer Earl Palmer.
