Bohemian Rhapsody (The Original Soundtrack) is the official soundtrack to the 2018 Queen biographical film Bohemian Rhapsody, bringing together some of the band's biggest studio recordings with rare live performances, specially reworked tracks and previously unreleased material. Originally released in October 2018, the soundtrack was produced by Queen's Brian May and Roger Taylor and became a major chart success around the world.
The collection features some of Queen's most iconic recordings, including “Somebody To Love”, “Killer Queen”, “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “Crazy Little Thing Called Love”, “Another One Bites The Dust”, “I Want To Break Free” and “Who Wants To Live Forever”. It also opens with Queen's recording of the famous 20th Century Fox Fanfare, while “Doing All Right... Revisited” features Smile – the pre-Queen band featuring Brian May and Roger Taylor alongside Tim Staffell.
For collectors and Queen fans, the live recordings are a major attraction. “Keep Yourself Alive” comes from the Rainbow Theatre, “Now I'm Here” from Hammersmith Odeon, “Fat Bottomed Girls” from Paris and “Love Of My Life” from Rock In Rio. The soundtrack also contains the first official release of Queen's complete five-song Live Aid performance from Wembley Stadium on 13 July 1985: “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “Radio Ga Ga”, “Ay-Oh”, “Hammer To Fall” and “We Are The Champions”.
The soundtrack is therefore more than a conventional Queen greatest-hits collection, combining familiar classics with live performances and specially created material connected to the film. The recordings span approximately 1973–2018, providing a broad overview of Queen's career while also serving as the musical companion to one of the most successful music biopics of recent years.
