Jazz Impressions Of Japan is a fascinating 1964 album from The Dave Brubeck Quartet, bringing together four of the defining musicians of Brubeck's classic period: Dave Brubeck on piano, Paul Desmond on alto saxophone, Eugene Wright on double bass and Joe Morello on drums. Originally released by Columbia, the album documents Brubeck's musical impressions of Japan following the quartet's tour of the country in 1964.

Recorded primarily at Columbia's CBS 30th Street Studio in New York on 16 and 17 June 1964, the album turns Brubeck's experiences in Japan into a collection of original compositions. Tracks such as “Tokyo Traffic”, “Rising Sun”, “Fujiyama”, “The City Is Crying” and “Osaka Blues” give the record the feel of a musical travel diary, with Brubeck translating sights, sounds and impressions from the trip into jazz.
