The A-side opens with "Pretend We're Dead", L7's breakthrough hit and arguably their most recognisable song. Originally released on the band's 1992 album Bricks Are Heavy, the track became an alternative-rock classic thanks to its instantly memorable riff, infectious chorus and sarcastic, confrontational edge.
"Shitlist" follows with a much more aggressive punk-rock attack, its relentless guitars and shouted vocals demonstrating the harder side of L7's sound. Together, the two A-side tracks perfectly capture the band's ability to move between catchy alternative rock and uncompromising punk.
