Emerging in the early 1980s Tokyo experimental scene, the ensemble—featuring leading figures such as composer Ryuichi Sakamoto - helped redefine the possibilities of rhythm-driven music outside of Western jazz and classical frameworks.

Built almost entirely around tuned percussion, marimba-like textures, and interlocking rhythmic structures, the album creates a hypnotic, propulsive sound world where melody often emerges from rhythm itself.
