A heavyweight slice of late-2000s European neurofunk, Musclecar / Taurinel brings together German producer N.Phect and Dutch drum & bass heavyweights Black Sun Empire for two dark, highly technical productions. Released on Black Sun Empire's own label in 2009 as BSE 010, the 12" sits firmly within the harder, more futuristic side of the label's catalogue.

The A-side, "Musclecar", is a solo N.Phect production built around heavyweight bass, tightly programmed drums and the precision sound design associated with the European neurofunk movement. N.Phect had already established himself through releases on labels including Subtitles Music, Renegade Hardware, Basswerk and Syndrome Audio, making this Black Sun Empire release a natural fit for his technically focused production style.
