Traveling Wilburys Vol. 3 (1990) is the second studio release from the Traveling Wilburys, the collaborative supergroup formed by George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, and Jeff Lynne, following the death of Roy Orbison after the first album.

Despite the numbering, the “Vol. 3” title was a tongue-in-cheek joke, continuing the band’s playful mythology. The album maintains the group’s relaxed, informal style, blending roots rock, pop harmonies, and storytelling songwriting with a light, often humorous tone.

Compared to the debut, this record leans slightly more toward straightforward rock arrangements and playful lyricism. Tracks like “The Devil’s Been Busy” and “Wilbury Twist” highlight the group’s self-aware humour, while songs such as “She’s My Baby” and “Inside Out” continue their signature melodic, collaborative style.

While not as universally acclaimed as Vol. 1, it remains a valued continuation of the Wilburys’ brief but influential catalogue, preserving the chemistry of some of rock’s most iconic songwriters working in a deliberately unpolished, joyful format.
