ZZ Top – Recycler

Released in 1990, Recycler is the tenth studio album by ZZ Top and the final instalment in the band's hugely successful trilogy that began with Eliminator and continued with Afterburner. Combining their trademark blues-rock sound with contemporary production, synthesizers and driving guitar riffs, the album helped carry the band's commercial success into the 1990s.

While maintaining the polished style that had brought them worldwide fame, Recycler also reintroduced stronger blues influences, particularly on standout tracks such as My Head's In Mississippi. The album balances hard-edged rockers with groove-driven tracks and showcases the distinctive interplay between Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard.

The album includes Doubleback, which gained additional recognition through its appearance in the film Back to the Future Part III, as well as fan favourites My Head's In Mississippi and Concrete And Steel. Blending blues, boogie and modern rock production, Recycler remains an important entry in ZZ Top's catalogue and a strong example of their late-career commercial peak.
